CCPB uplifts the youth through skills development
As a committed supporter and funding partner of the Philisa Abafazi Bethu Family Centre (PAB) in Retreat, CCPB was thrilled to have hosted and facilitated a three-day leadership programme for the youth of PAB, at our Leadership University last month (May).
The programme taught the youngsters valuable leadership skills that will assist them in critically evaluating situations and communicating their thoughts with their peers. At the same time, they learned important character traits such as self-control and self-discipline. After the 3-day programme, they will be able to apply these skills as they face challenge and adversity in their everyday lives. The leadership programme gave learners an insight into the world of Coca-Cola and inspired them to consider their futures and the importance of a good education.
“We would like to say thank you to CCPB for the opportunity for the youth of the Greater Lavender Hill Community to have attended this training. In the sessions, they learned about listening, communication, and personal development – about who they are and where they find themselves,” says Lucinda Evans from PAB.
CCPB is committed to investing in projects that enrich and empower the communities they live in, creating a long-term legacy that benefits all. Huge thanks to Romeo Langenhoven for his leadership work at the PAB Centre and the CCPB LU Team for hosting the group!!
CCPB celebrates five years of the Rainbow Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre
Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages (CCPB) recently celebrated the 5-year milestone of our CSI project investment at the Rainbow Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre in Masiphumelele. This auspicious celebration took place on 25 May, which was also Africa Day, and the teachers and children dressed up for the occasion!
CCPB had been one of the primary funders of this project which was officially opened in April 2016. The purpose-built Centre has four spacious and fully furnished classrooms, ablutions, an office, and kitchen, as well as two jungle gyms in a play area for up to 120 children. The ECD offers an environment dedicated to developing children in the community by focusing on their physical, social, and cognitive capacities. They are also assisted in developing language and comprehension abilities, thereby ensuring that they are well prepared for Grade R.
CCPB is thrilled to be part of these community projects. Together with The Coca-Cola Company, we believe that developing bright futures for our children is important. It’s for this reason that CCPB invests in a variety of education projects aimed at enhancing the learning needs within disadvantaged communities. #MakingADifference
