TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING PARTICIPATION IN THE VALPRE PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION
Stand a Chance to WIN 1 of 3 Weekend Getaways in the Cape Winelands valued at R45 000
1 (one) of 3 (three) weekend getaways (i.e., from Friday to Sunday) for 2 (two) in the Cape Winelands, including:
- flights on economy class, standard room accommodation (one room with double occupancy),
- 1 x chauffeur, 1 x wine tram experience,
- 1 x picnic, 3 x meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and drinks (excludes alcohol), valued at R45,000 (Forty-five thousand rand) each (“Getaway Prize”); OR
● 1 (one) of 150 (one hundred and fifty) glassware box sets, containing: 2 water tumblers, 2 wine glasses and 1 wine carafe, valued at R1,350 (one thousand three hundred and fifty rand) each (“Glassware Prize”).
1. This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is organised by Coca-Cola Africa (Proprietary) Limited (“Coca-Cola Africa”), Shoprite Checkers (Proprietary) Limited and its agencies, RAPT (Pty) Ltd (known as “Promoters”).
2. The Competition is open to permanent residents and citizens of South Africa over the age of 18 (eighteen) years, in possession of a valid form of identification (South African Identity Document or Passport), except any minor, employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of the Promoter, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoters and/or immediate family members of any of the above persons, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies.
3. By entering the Competition, all participants and the winner(s) agree to be bound by these rules/terms and conditions as interpreted by the Promoters, whose decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding. The Promoters reserve the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify, or change these rules/terms and conditions and any prizes, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which the Promoters reasonably deem necessary.
4. The Competition is only valid within South Africa. Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time of the prizes being awarded should they be declared a winner, failing which such person will be disqualified and the draw of a replacement entry shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw.
5. The Competition commences on 28 March 2022 and ends at 23h59 South African time on 31 May 2022 (“the Duration). ● 1 (one) of 3 (three) weekend getaways (i.e., from Friday to Sunday) for 2 (two) in the Cape Winelands, including flights on economy class, standard room accommodation (one room with double occupancy), 1 x chauffeur, 1 x wine tram experience, 1 x picnic, 3 x meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and drinks (excludes alcohol), valued at R45,000 (Forty-five thousand rand) each (“Getaway Prize”); OR
● 1 (one) of 150 (one hundred and fifty) glassware box sets, containing: 2 water tumblers, 2 wine glasses and 1 wine carafe, valued at R1,350 (one thousand three hundred and fifty rand) each (“Glassware Prize”).
6. The Participants stand a chance to one of the following prizes:
There will be a total of 3 (three) Getaway Prize winners who will each win a weekend getaway in Cape Winelands as described above, and a total of 150 (one hundred and fifty) Glassware Prize winners who will each win a glassware set as described above. The brand of the glassware in the Glassware Prize will be chosen by Coca-Cola Africa.
In respect of the Getaway Prize, the winner will go on a weekend away (i.e., from Friday until Sunday) with 1 (one) companion of their choice anytime between 17 July 2022 and 17 December 2022, per consumer’s preferred travel dates. The winner will be required to notify Coca-Cola Africa of their preferred travel dates in time, so that all bookings (as provided in these terms and conditions) are made on time. If the winner fails to travel within the dates above-mentioned, i.e., anytime between 17 July 2022 and 17 December 2022, the winner shall forfeit the prize. This prize includes: flights on economy class (chosen by the Promoters), a 2 (two) nights’ accommodation at Cape Winelands at Promoters’ choice of hotel (standard single room), 3 (three) meals a day consisting of breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, a chauffeur each day as per the itinerary determined by Coca-Cola Africa, drinks (excluding alcohol).
The Getaway Prize includes transportation from and to the airport. Winner and winner’s travel companion must be available to travel to the weekend away on the travel dates selected by the consumer provided that these travel dates fall between 17July 2022 and 17 December 2022. The flights, accommodation and chauffer will be chosen by Coca-Cola Africa. Travel is subject to these terms and conditions. The Promoters are not responsible for the postponement, or cancellation of the weekend getaway for reasons beyond their control, including but not limited to pandemics, epidemics, local disease outbreaks, public health emergencies, rules from any government authority, lockdown or stay at home orders and quarantines. Winner understands and agrees that the Promoters have the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify and remove a winner or the winner’s companion from any activity at any time if the winner’s or the winner’s companion behaviour at any point is uncooperative, disruptive, or may or does cause damage to person, property, or the reputation of the Promoters. All expenses, travel, and other costs not expressly stated in the prize package description above are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner and travel companion are responsible for complying with any and all COVID-19 requirements set forth by the Promoters, hotels/accommodations, transport and government authorities. Failure to comply with any required COVID-19 requirements, may result in forfeiture of select elements of the prize or the entire prize. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute the prize for one of equal value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use.
6. To enter this Competition, participants will be required to do the following:
● Purchase any 3 participating Valpré® products (still and/or sparkling and any size) and a choice of any of the qualifying wines from any participating Checkers store. Participating wines are: Anthonji Rupert, Diemersdal, Durbanville Hills, Haute Cabriere, La Motte, Leopard’s Leap, Spier; and
● Swipe their Checkers Xtra Savings Card for automatic entry.
7. The prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other item. The Glassware Prizes will be delivered to the winners by 30 June 2022 on agreed location (within the Republic of South Africa) based on communication that will be exchanged between the agency, Rapt Agency (Pty) Ltd and the winner via email or by SMS.
8. Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:
a. If any entry was made in a manner which in the Promoters’ discretion provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a participant will be disqualified from this Competition
b. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they like provided they complete the entry mechanics set out above each time. However, participants are only eligible to stand a chance to win 1 (one) prize under this Competition.
9. Winners
● Between 30 May 2022 and 24 June 2022 all entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will short-list the valid entries. The judging panel will then conduct an audited random draw to select 3 (three) potential Getaway Prize winners and 150 (one hundred and fifty) Glassware Prize winners until all the prizes have been awarded.
● The potential winners will be contacted by 8 July 2022 via email or SMS to verify their details. In order for the particular entries to be confirmed as valid, the possible winners will be required to provide their proof of identification, including their full name, contact number and e-mail address to deliver the prize.
● Once the Promoters have verified the winners, the potential winners will be confirmed as official winners, the Promoters will advise winners when and how they will receive their prize, via email or SMS. Winners of the Glassware Prize will receive their prize by 22 July 2022. Winners of the Getaway Prize will receive their prize on their selected travel dates subject to these terms and conditions. The Promoters’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
● Once a winner has received their prize, the Promoters will not take responsibility for any product malfunction or defect. Ownership of and risk in and benefit attached to the prize will pass on to the winner immediately.
● The prize winners are obligated to behave responsibly and comply with these terms and conditions and all reasonable requests of the Promoters and their agents.
10. Disqualification of Winner
● If the Promoters are unable to reach a winner after 48 (forty-eight) hours from the date of being notified that they are potential winners or if a potential winner fails the verification process after drawing his/her entry for whatsoever reason, such person will be disqualified and a draw for a replacement entry and winner will take place.
11. Use of participant and winner information
● All participants and the winners, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoters, their advertising agencies, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoters and/or receipt and/or use of the prizes).
● The Promoters may require the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting their prizes or after having received their prizes. The winners will be given the opportunity to decline to the publication of their images and to participate in the Promoters’ marketing material in so far as it relates to the Competition.
● The Promoters and their affiliates (including subsidiaries, Bottlers, and joint ventures) may contact the participants via email, SMS and through social media platforms and other platforms to deliver marketing communications regarding their products and promotional activities, subject to the participant’s prior consent and in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”). Personal information collected from the participants will be processed in accordance with what is described in the Privacy Policy accessible at www.coca-cola.co.za and in accordance with the provisions of the POPIA, and that such use may include transfers to the Promoters’ affiliates and third-party service providers in any country.
● The Promoters may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoters to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this clause for any reason, such a winner will be deemed to have rejected the prize and it shall revert back to the Promoters.
● By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give the Promoters a world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive license, to reproduce,
modify, adapt and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters.
● In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to cancel this Competition (before entries are received), to change the number or nature of the prize at any time (on 20 business days’ notice to you), or to change the rules at our discretion (provided that we will not change the conditions for participation or conditions for being awarded the prize, as stated herein).
